What to Expect at Your Initial Appointment with Move Health and Chiropractic
Booking an initial appointment is the first step toward understanding and addressing your health concerns. Once your booking is confirmed, you will receive an email with forms to complete. These include:
- General Information Form: Overview of your personal and medical history, and the reason for visiting the clinic.
- GDPR Form: Ensures your information is handled securely.
During your initial appointment, we take a thorough and personalised approach:
- In-Depth Discussion: We’ll explore what brought you into the clinic, doing our "detective work" with a variety of detailed questions, the more information you can give about what you have come to see us about the better.
- Health Checks: Includes measurements like blood pressure and heart rate.
- Physical Assessments: Evaluates your posture, movements, specific orthopaedic tests, neurological assessments, and, if necessary, other tests such as heart or abdominal assessments.
- Diagnosis & Plan: After completing the assessments, we’ll explain our findings, discuss your diagnosis and what it means, prognosis, and the treatment plan. This includes outlining the benefits, any associated risks, and whether further investigations are required.
- Consent & Treatment: Once you’re informed and comfortable, we’ll gain your consent before starting treatment.
Follow-Up Appointments
Based on your needs, follow-up sessions will be arranged for 30, 45, or 60 minutes. These sessions will focus on progressing your treatment plan, with regular reviews to monitor your progress and make any necessary adjustments.

Ongoing Care and Maintenance
Once you’re feeling better, we’ll discuss the next steps in your care journey. You’ll have a few options to choose from, depending on your needs and preferences:
- Discharge from Care: If you feel confident and comfortable, we can discharge you, allowing you to book in only when you feel it’s necessary.
- Maintenance Care: Some people prefer a proactive approach to maintain their progress and prevent future issues. With this option, we schedule appointments at time intervals that work best for you and your goals. For some, this might be every 4–6 weeks, while for others, it may be every 12–14 weeks.
We’ll work together to determine the best approach for your individual needs, ensuring you feel supported and confident in maintaining your health and well-being.
